Keller’s move to Al-Ittihad was officially announced on Friday afternoon.
The Cameroonian center-back will be coached by the father of his former teammate, Sergio Conceicao.
“The Athletic Union of Limassol announces that our player, Stephane Keller, has been loaned to the Saudi Arabian team Al-Ittihad until the end of this season.
This deal came after an official proposal was made to AEL on Monday evening, 02/02/2026. It was not because the team wanted to let the player go. However, since Keller really wanted to take this exciting offer from Al-Ittihad, AEL decided not to block his opportunity for a big step in his career.
This agreement is also great for our Club. It brings in a good financial return from the loan and includes an option for Al-Ittihad to buy his rights. If they choose to do so, this transfer will be the biggest in the history of the Athletic Union of Limassol, showing our Club’s effective work and ongoing progress.
If Al-Ittihad does not buy the player’s rights and he returns to AEL, his contract will automatically extend until June 2028. This ensures that both parties continue working together for another two years, showing our trust in his abilities.
