A low-pressure system is moving in from northern Egypt, bringing a change in the weather to Cyprus starting tonight. A new disturbance from the west will make the bad weather worse from Friday. Also, there will be more dust in the air.
Today, expect mostly cloudy skies with a chance of local showers after noon. Winds will pick up, reaching 5 to 6 Beaufort along the coasts, making the sea rough. The temperature will hit 22 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts, and 16 degrees in the mountains.
Tonight, rain and isolated thunderstorms are likely, with a chance of hail. Winds may vary and strengthen during these events.
From Thursday to Saturday, the weather will stay unstable with rain, thunderstorms, and some intense conditions, especially in the west and south. Snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos.
The temperature will drop until the end of the week, going slightly below normal for this time of year.
