Students from the 5th and 6th grades of Akrotiri Primary School made butterflies to send hope and love to kids fighting cancer.
The children wanted to honor the young heroes who face their battles every day and inspire them to keep going with bravery. They chose butterflies for a reason; just like butterflies go through stages before they fly, young patients must show strength and patience too.
Butterflies, symbols of change and new beginnings, reflect the strength and patience of these young fighters. Just as a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly, children battling their own challenges need courage to recover.
The students hoped for the kids to return home soon, away from hospitals and pain, and highlighted that among the butterflies they created is a special one representing a young heroine from their school who beat cancer.
