The Ethics and Sports Protection Committee has handed over a lengthy report on its investigation into the Cyprus Swimming Federation to the Attorney General. The material is now in the hands of the Legal Service, which will decide whether there are grounds for criminal proceedings.
The report and detailed account of facts were delivered to Attorney General Giorgos Savvidis during a meeting at the Legal Service with Committee chairman Stefanos Skordis. According to the announcement, the investigating officer appointed by the Committee documented findings related to potential conflicts of interest and violations of current legislation.
The Legal Service will assess the evidence, and if indications of criminal conduct are found, it will order a criminal investigation.
In a separate case, the Committee completed its review of a football match between Omonia 29th May and AEL in the 2nd matchday of the second phase of the first division championship. After evaluating the data, nothing objectionable was found and the case was archived.
