Taxi drivers are starting a new 24-hour strike. It will run from 6:00 AM Tuesday to 6:00 AM Wednesday.
The Pan-Cyprian Union of Urban Taxis POAT says there has been no response from authorities. This follows their four-hour strike on January 13, 2026.
The union announced that protests would continue. If there’s still no response after this strike, taxi drivers plan to start an indefinite strike on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Drivers will meet at Larnaca and Paphos airports, and in Limassol at the Germasogeia River parking area.
