Proceedings opened at the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court in the Tersefanou attempted murder case, with a 33-year-old man as the accused.
At today’s hearing, the court was scheduled to receive the defendant’s plea on multiple charges, including attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, wounding, possession of a bladed weapon, housebreaking, common assault, threats, harassment, and psychological abuse.
The defence requested additional time to file the plea, and the court set a new date for Friday, March 20.
The case relates to an incident on January 18. According to the complaint filed with police, the 33-year-old allegedly entered an apartment through a balcony door where a 46-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were present, attacked the man, and then injured him with an axe. The same complaint says he also threatened the woman, who managed to escape and alert authorities.
The injured man was hospitalized, while the judicial process continues with the next hearing expected to be a key step in the case.
