Another road accident has plunged Cypriot society into mourning. Twenty-five-year-old Tsamisia Christos Tsangaridis from Pallouriotissa lost his life on Sunday evening in a collision between two motorcycles on Larnakos Avenue in Aglantzia.
The fatal incident occurred around 7 p.m. A motorcycle driven by a 19-year-old, under circumstances still being investigated, collided head-on with the 25-year-old’s motorcycle. Both motorcycles overturned, and Christos Tsangaridis’s bike additionally struck a parked car, making the crash even more severe.
Ambulances rushed to the scene and transported both injured parties to Nicosia General Hospital. There, doctors pronounced the 25-year-old dead, while the 19-year-old driver was discharged after receiving first aid.
The young driver underwent alcohol and drug tests, both of which came back negative. Nevertheless, a court arrest warrant was issued, under which he was detained to facilitate the investigation.
Nicosia Traffic Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the tragic accident.
