A devastating tragedy has shaken Limassol after a nearly three-month-old infant was found unresponsive at home early on 2 March.
According to available information, the mother had fed and checked on the baby before the family went to sleep. The parents then slept with the child in the same bed.
At around 7:00 a.m., they realised the infant was not responding. The baby was rushed to Limassol General Hospital, where doctors on duty confirmed the death.
Initial examinations found no external injuries. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death and will be carried out by the head of the Forensic Service, Angeliki Papetta.
