The hearing in Larissa started off on a tough note. Victims’ relatives and their lawyers voiced strong concerns about the trial’s conditions, especially the size and safety of the room at the Gaiopolis conference center.
According to cnn.gr, the court has postponed the trial until April 1. This will allow time to assess the room and decide on the trial conditions. The delay gives everyone a chance to evaluate the situation and prevent more reactions and security problems.
“The conditions are disrespectful to the victims. Relatives are cramped, the room is too small, and you must find another room, Madam President.”
Earlier, emotions ran high when a victim’s mother shouted: “You trample on the memory of our children,” earning warm applause from the audience. Meanwhile, the president of the bar associations made a public request for security measures, highlighting that the situation affects dignity and safety.
Zoe Konstantopoulou also pointed out that the trial conditions are disrespectful to the victims and asked for a different room. As one of the 250 lawyers representing families, she said, “The conditions are offensive to the victims. Relatives are crowded, the room is insufficient, and it is imperative that you demand, Madam President, that another room be found.”
