The police have arrested two young people in connection with the explosion at a fast-food restaurant in Limassol. The restaurant is owned by a Russian businessman.
The suspects, aged 19 and 21, are in custody. They are set to appear today in District Court for detention orders.
The explosion happened early on March 24. Unknown individuals placed an explosive device at the restaurant’s entrance, causing damage.
Initial checks show the attackers approached on foot. Authorities think this attack is linked to earlier incidents involving the same businessman.
The investigation is also looking into possible extortion or ‘protection’ offers. The case is still ongoing.
