Police in Limassol are looking into an attempted property destruction case. This follows an attack with firecrackers on the home of a 36-year-old minor league referee on Wednesday night.
The explosion occurred around 10:30 PM on the front porch. It damaged the glass fence, ornamental plants, and various items. The Limassol Police quickly cordoned off the area. Members from the Limassol CID and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit came to gather evidence.
Early investigations show that two people on a motorcycle were involved. They found out that the explosion was caused by a factory-made firecracker mixed with some flammable liquid.
Investigations are ongoing in the area. Police are taking witness statements to identify the attackers and understand their motives.
