In Cyprus, around 10 out of every 1,000 newborns have congenital heart disease. These little hearts need more than just medical help; they need support, strength, and caring people who won’t give up.
Yesterday, during Congenital Heart Disease Week, volunteers, citizens, and students from the Senior School walked 15 kilometers. They spread a message of love, awareness, and solidarity. The walk started at the Senior School in Latsia and ended at Freedom Square. Young and old came together to share a powerful message of love, awareness, and support. Alexis Sofokleous led the way, and Deputy Mayor Chrysanthos Fakas represented the Mayor of Nicosia at the event.
The activities will continue all week until February 14th, providing more chances for participation, awareness, and support for these little heroes and their families.
Alexis Sofokleous led the route, while Deputy Mayor Chrysanthos Fakas honored the event by representing the Mayor of Nicosia.
Meanwhile, another event by the Association of Parents and Friends of Children with Heart Disease took place today at the Mall of Cyprus. It brought smiles and information to everyone who attended.
