The Yellow Warning from the Cyprus Meteorological Department is active from 6:00 AM Friday to 6:00 AM Saturday. This is due to worsening weather across Cyprus.
Rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected in different areas of the island, with some being quite intense. Hail may fall during storms, and winds will pick up significantly. Total rainfall, especially in the western part of the island, could exceed 55 millimeters in 24 hours, with rain intensity reaching 35 millimeters per hour.
Today, expect cloudy weather with rain and occasional local thunderstorms. On the higher peaks of Troodos, snow or sleet may fall late in the afternoon. Hail could also occur in stormy areas, and these conditions may last longer or be more intense. Winds will blow from the south to southwest, moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort, and occasionally very strong at 6 Beaufort. The sea will be rough and wavy on windward coasts. The temperature will rise to about 19 degrees inland and on the coast, and 8 degrees in the higher mountains. At night, expect mostly cloudy skies with local showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Winds will blow from southwest to west, moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort inland and in mountainous areas but very strong at 6 Beaufort on the coast, occasionally reaching gale force at 7 Beaufort on windward coasts. The sea will be wavy to very wavy. The temperature will drop to 8 degrees inland, around 12 on the coast, and 4 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Saturday, expect partly cloudy weather with some isolated showers or thunderstorms at first, but these will weaken quickly. Sunday and Monday will be mainly clear with occasional clouds. The temperature will gradually rise above average for this time of year.
