A coach from the Aris U12 team was taken to a hospital in Limassol after an incident during a youth league match.
According to the police, a verbal fight happened between coach Tornike Aphtsiauri and a parent from the opposing team. The parent reportedly attacked and hurt the coach.
Police arrived at the scene, and the coach was taken to a medical center for treatment.
Aris Limassol strongly condemned the incident in a statement. They stressed that violence has no place in football and will take legal action against the suspect. They also called on the Cyprus Football Association to ensure safety for everyone in children’s leagues and promote sportsmanship.
