The Government is making big changes to student grants. They want to help more families, as announced by Konstantinos Letymbiotis.
The Government Spokesperson said the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus approved a new bill for state student grants. This follows Nikos Christodoulides’ plan to improve student welfare.
The total budget for the grant will go up to 62 million euros. Income limits will also rise by 5,000 euros, letting more families take part in the program.
Plus, families with an annual income of up to 44,000 euros can expect a 10% increase in their grant amount. This boosts financial support during times when education and family costs are high.
Large families get special attention too. Families with five or more dependent children will no longer have income and asset limits.
The Government Spokesperson pointed out that the country’s economic stability makes these social policies possible. Supporting students is seen as an investment in the future of Cypriot society and economy.
