From November 16 to 26, the multinational joint exercise ‘MEDUSA-14/2025’ happened in Alexandria, Egypt. It involved air and naval forces and Special Operations units from Cyprus, Greece, Egypt, France, and Saudi Arabia.
The National Guard took part with the Offshore Patrol Vessel IOANNIDIS, a Naval Special Forces team, and a Special Operations team from the Commando Command.
On Tuesday, November 25, the final phase of the exercise took place during Distinguished Visitors Day (DV-Day). The Republic of Cyprus was represented by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou, along with the Naval Commander, Captain Minas Solomonidis.
This exercise greatly improved teamwork and cooperation among the Armed Forces of the countries involved. They planned and executed various air-naval operations and joint actions at both operational and tactical levels.
One striking image released by the National Guard shows a Cypriot paratrooper proudly carrying the Cypriot flag over the Pyramid of Giza.
