Strong lineup, but not for every game.
In the derby against AEK, Henning Berg picked his best players for the attacking midfield. Evandro, Eiting, Tankovic, Jovetic, and Semedo started, playing behind the lone forward, Angelos Neophytou. This created a lineup focused on offense.
On paper, it looked great—full of quality, experience, and creativity. It should have troubled any defense. But in reality, the performance fell short. Early in the game, OMONOIA struggled to find its rhythm and connect in attack.
As the game went on, the team improved its presence. Still, they lacked energy and clear thinking at key moments—things that could have changed the outcome. Despite having talented players, it was clear that a better balance between midfield and attack is needed in tough games.
The talent upfront is clear, but without proper roles, pressing intensity, and good coverage, even a strong lineup can struggle. The goal now is to make the most of this talent so that quality leads to consistent success. There’s confidence that Berg will figure it out.
