The Cyprus Police are launching a nationwide campaign to check safety belt and child seat use. The main goal is to cut down on serious injuries and deaths in traffic accidents.
The campaign starts tomorrow, Monday, March 9, and runs until Sunday, March 15, 2026. It will focus on checking both front and rear seats, highlighting the importance of using belts and child seats correctly.
Statistics from 2022–2024 show that over 50% of drivers and passengers who died were not wearing safety belts. This makes it the best life-saving measure.
The campaign is part of a pan-European effort through ROADPOL, aimed at improving road safety and raising awareness among all drivers and passengers.
