Laughter and colors filled the kindergarten “Smiling City” in Limassol. Cypriot textile designer Michalis Pantelidis organized a fun workshop called “Paint Your Own Scarf”.
Michalis Pantelidis recently held the “Paint Your Own Scarf” workshop. He gave kids a chance to express themselves through painting and fabrics.
About 70 children aged 3–5 were split into three groups. With fabric markers and colors, they started filling large scarves with designs from their imagination. Each brushstroke meant something special, with no rules — as the designer said, “No rules — every line counts.”
For him, this experience was more than just creative. “I want to be the adult I wished I had as a child — someone who encourages creativity and shows kids their ideas matter.”
As the scarves filled with colors, playful shapes, and little artworks, the children were not just making designs — they were also building confidence by enjoying free expression.
This event shows Pantelidis’s belief that beauty is everywhere if we let it grow. The designer teaches fashion at Alexander College in Larnaca and continues to share this art with young kids.
