In South Korea, authorities have arrested four people for hacking into over 120,000 security cameras in homes and businesses. They recorded private moments and sold the footage on a site that specializes in stolen videos from IP cameras. The targets included pilates studios, karaoke bars, and a gynecological clinic.

The police said the four suspects acted independently, not as a group. One of them is accused of hacking 63,000 cameras and selling 524 videos for 20,500 euros. Another allegedly shared 648 videos from 70,000 hacked devices for 10,500 euros. Together, they are responsible for 62% of the content uploaded to the website last year.

Law enforcement is working with agencies in other countries to shut down the platform. They have also arrested three more people who bought the illegal videos. Additionally, they informed victims at 58 locations and stressed that IP camera users should change their passwords often to prevent such breaches.
