We weren’t surprised to hear this morning that Christos Charalambous and Omonia 29th are parting ways. The Limassol coach likely wasn’t shocked when the team’s general manager called him about it.
He also noticed the buzz on social media, especially in the fans’ comments.
They decided to bring in Belgian Fandjo Buys to take over for Charalambous, who had a short time at Karmiotissa.
The foreign coach has been on the island for many years, first arriving nearly twenty years ago. As a player, he was with Peyia’s team when they won the cup in 2009.
Fandjo Buys knows that the expectations from the management and fans of ’29’ are high. The goal set this summer is clear: the team aims to return to the top league for the second time in its history.
