Alarming scenes unfolded last night in Aglantzia, Nicosia, when an improvised explosive device was detonated outside a gym shortly after 10:30 p.m.
The gym, owned by two young men aged 35 and 39, suffered significant damage to its glass storefront. A car belonging to a 29-year-old woman, parked nearby, also sustained minor damage from the blast.
Technical examinations at the scene confirmed the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device, pointing to a deliberate act.
Police are conducting extensive investigations to identify the perpetrators. The possibility that the incident is linked to personal or business disputes has not been ruled out.
