The war in the Middle East has changed international travel. Many governments are warning against traveling to high-risk areas. Military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran, along with Iran’s missile and drone attacks, have caused many flight cancellations and route changes.
Experts say the highest risk countries for travelers are mainly in the Middle East. These include Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq. Gulf states like the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan are also sensitive areas due to the ongoing war.
Cyprus is not on the list of dangerous travel countries. Despite the tension in the broader Middle East, the island is still seen as a safe spot for visitors. There are no travel restrictions related to current events.
Meanwhile, other parts of the world have been high-risk for travelers for years due to war or political instability. These include Afghanistan, Sudan, Russia, Ukraine, Myanmar, and Mali. Conflicts and instability make these places particularly uncertain for travelers.
