Cyprus Hosts Diverse Cultural Events Across Cities

Today’s schedule is packed with cultural events, from movies and theater to art shows all over Cyprus. There’s something for everyone!

In Limassol, the Rialto Theater will screen Giorgos Lanthimos’ film Bugonia at 8:30 PM, featuring Emma Stone. This psychological thriller is filled with satire and social commentary. It premiered at the Venice Film Festival 2025, where it competed for the Golden Lion and won the Green Drop Award. The film runs for 120 minutes and is suitable for ages 15+. In Nicosia, Thkio Ppalies will host guest artist pitcherzzz, Cóilín O’Connell, at 6:30 PM. He’ll discuss his work with Marina Christodoulidou. The artist will read his text A Phenomenon Only Slightly Strange, which looks at UFO phenomena in Ireland and Cyprus. After that, there will be screenings of Looking for Freedom? (2024) by Michael Dignam and Forty-five Seconds (2024) by Ruth Clinton and Niamh Moriarty.

Theater lovers in Larnaca can head to the Municipal Theater at 8:30 PM for “Intergalactic Failures” by Konstantinos Tsitsios, directed by Aris Kyprianou. This play mixes humor with social critique, following Nikos as he tries to change his life but is interrupted by unexpected superhero visits. For more details, check out more.com.

Nicosia’s exhibitions include Fluid Persistence at NiMAC until May 31, “Parallel Artistic Searches” by Marios and Anna Varella at Apokalipsi until January 17, Dimitris Yeros’ painting exhibition at Golden Gallery by Kapatays until January 10, and the group show “December” at Stand in Line until January 24. Rodax Art Gallery features “From Chaos to Weaving” by Marios Kourouniotis until January 15. Maurice Cazzolli’s “Water Movement Nicosia” is on display at Town Hall Square until June 30. Art Seen hosts Amy Stephens’ “Nature’s Stage” until January 16, Leventis Gallery showcases an exhibition on Christoforos Savva until June 28, and the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation presents “Cyprus Island History. Memory Reality” until June 30.

In Larnaca, the Municipal Gallery has “Traces of Humans IV – (The Conversation of Worlds)” by Marios Spiliopoulos until January 11. In Limassol, PSI Foundation presents “From Nature to Structure: Threads of Dialogue” until January 31, Edit Gallery shows Stella Kapezanou’s “Pretty Little Crimes” until January 17, Marina Olympiou’s work is at 3FHome until March 10, and the group exhibition “In Parallel: Conversations on Love, Life & Light” is at 125 Space until February 28. In Paphos, CAP St George Hotel & Resort features Yiannis Sakellis’ exhibition “Where Figures Drift” until January 11.

Cinemas are screening new films like Anaconda, Mission Santa: Yoyo to the Rescue, and RIO at RIO Nicosia Mall and Limassol. You can also catch A Private Life / Vie Privée and We Bury the Dead. At Pantheon Cinema in Nicosia, the film “Kapodistrias” will be shown at 8:30 PM (pantheon-theatre.com).
