The Health Insurance Organisation has upgraded the GeSY software, introducing changes for all beneficiaries as well as specific patient groups.

For the general public, referral validity for laboratory tests has been extended from six to twelve months, and barcode-enabled prescription dispensing has been activated in GeSY pharmacies.

The barcode appears in each patient’s digital profile and allows pharmacists to retrieve prescriptions by scanning, streamlining service delivery.

At the same time, new arrangements are introduced for oncology patients, while a multiple-sclerosis registry is being launched to provide direct neurologist access with reduced co-payment.
