The students of Apostolos Markos High School in Nicosia had a unique and emotional day. They welcomed Dr. Andronikou from the Karaiskakio Foundation, along with ten students from the School for the Deaf, making the event special.
The lecture was about bone marrow donation and how important it is to help save lives. It reminded everyone that even small actions can make a big difference. The event featured sign language translation, so everyone could join in equally. Ten students from the School for the Deaf took part actively, adding a meaningful touch to the day.
A highlight was when schoolgirls sang Eleonora Zouganeli’s song The Heart Hurts When It Grows, with sign language interpretation, touching everyone present.
At the end of the event, students could sign up as volunteer bone marrow donors. They also played handball with the visiting children from the School for the Deaf, sending a strong message of teamwork, solidarity, and social awareness.
