PLATANION CAMPING SITE: Closed until further notice – Campers are requested to remove their trailers
The Plation Camping Site will remain closed until further notice, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.
The temporary closure was decided with the aim of upgrading the site’s infrastructure and enhancing the visitor experience. The planned works include upgrading existing facilities, clearly delineating parking spaces for trailers and tents, as well as strengthening fire protection measures.
The Forestry Department urges campers to remove trailers and personal equipment by December 15, 2025, so that the works can be completed without delays. So far, no reopening date has been announced, as the completion of the upgrades requires detailed planning and execution of all projects. The Ministry requests the public’s understanding, emphasizing that the temporary suspension of operations is necessary for the safe and quality hosting of visitors in the future.
