The Democratic Party (DIPA) has announced its first ten parliamentary candidates for the May 2026 elections after a meeting of its Political Office. Four of these candidates stand out.
DIPA says the ballot is coming together nicely. They aim to offer a realistic and trustworthy political proposal. Their focus is on the middle class, youth, social unity, healthy business practices, and building trust in institutions. The candidates come from different professional and social backgrounds, bringing experience and knowledge without resorting to populism or divisive tactics.
DIPA introduced the following standout candidates:
Marios Stylianou, Real Estate Consultant and former AEL – Limassol footballer

Dr. Sergis Sergiou, Doctor and President of Ayia Napa Football Team

George Koumas, Lawyer

Despina Papadopoulou, Radiology Technologist

The ballot also includes DIPA members with long-standing involvement:
Marinos Kleanthous, Vice President of DIPA and Lawyer

Lefteris Antoniou, President of the Union of Occupied Communities of Nicosia
Eleni Vrachimi, Pharmacist
Renos Koumis, Municipal Secretary of Lapithos
Stavros Stavrou, Former Police Officer
Andreas Kesouris, Mechanical Engineer
DIPA aims to represent the “silent majority” who value thoughtfulness, seriousness, and participation over tension and catchy slogans.
