Ioanna Fotiou (Annie Alexoui) has options for how she can testify, said Justice Minister Kostas Phytiris. He stressed that the aim is to fully investigate the case.

According to KYPE, there are three choices: travel to Cyprus to testify, give testimony abroad with an official team, or send a written complaint and evidence through her lawyer.

He explained that the second option has been used before. A team travels after arrangements by the Legal Service and the Police. In the third option, evidence will be received, registered, and sent to the relevant authorities without him taking on an investigative role.

The Minister pointed out that arrest warrants are up to the Legal Service and not tied to political decisions. He added that they will check the authenticity of the evidence before moving forward with investigations.

He also noted that a criminal investigator cannot be appointed without specific evidence. Social media posts alone aren’t enough for criminal cases. He mentioned that several issues are already under investigation but didn’t share details.

Finally, he said anyone who feels wronged can appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
