Events in the Middle East are impacting the international racing calendar. Formula 1 has announced that the Grand Prix races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia won’t happen in April due to the situation there. Their official statement says that after reviewing the conditions, these two events will not take place on their planned dates, and there are no plans to reschedule them this month.

Because of this, this year’s Formula 1 championship is now down to 22 race weekends instead of 24. The same goes for the rounds of Formula 2, Formula 3, and the F1 Academy, which are also removed from the schedule.

In a similar move, MotoGP has confirmed that the Qatar Grand Prix is postponed from April to November 8 due to geopolitical tensions in the region. They made this decision with FIM, the promoter, and Qatar’s authorities to ensure safety and proper organization.

This postponement in Qatar also changes the end of the MotoGP season. The race in Portugal is now set for November 22, and the finale in Valencia will take place on November 29.
