Students from Apostolos Markos High School showed that Christmas is about more than just lights and stories. It’s about actions. With big smiles, clear voices, and lots of love, they visited Makarios Hospital and sang traditional carols. They brought joy to young patients, parents, the elderly, and staff.
Divided into groups, the children visited wards where kids of all ages are hospitalized during the holidays. The choir brightened up the hospital corridors, moving many as they watched the children sing with such passion.
The spirit behind the event was musician Maria Petrou-Ilia, who prepared to share soulful melodies before entering Makarios Hospital.
The students, along with their teachers, musician Maria Petrou-Ilia, and Religion teacher Mr. Chrysostomos Melli, who played the violin throughout the event, delivered gifts to the young children both inside and outside the wards, spreading smiles and warmth.

The elves and Santa Claus handed out gifts to the children at Makarios Hospital, bringing smiles and festive cheer to the young patients.

In a fast-paced world, the children took us back in time — to when carols knocked on doors and opened hearts. The atmosphere was magical, reminding us that even as times change, values stay the same. Ultimately, carols are not just songs. They teach us about humanity. These children showed that solidarity, respect, and empathy start young and never go out of style.
